Frequently Asked Questions
What should I expect in my first therapy session?
Your first therapy session will be booked for 75 minutes at no additional charge instead of my typical 50 minute session. I have found that 50 minutes does not give us enough time for me to fully get to understand truly what is bringing you to therapy at this time, and 75 minutes often allows you to share more of your story and what you feel is important for me to know without feeling rushed. It is not required that we take the full 75 minutes. I just really value getting to know you and want to take my time reviewing any assessments you’ve filled out prior to session together, answering any of your questions, and trying my best to get a full history on what is bringing you to therapy at this time.
Do you offer telehealth?
Yes. If you prefer therapy from the comfort of your home, I am able to provide telehealth services as long as you are located in the state of Utah at the time of your session.
Do you take insurance?
At this time I do not currently accept insurance. I am however able to provide a superbill each month upon request that you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. I may be able to offer a sliding scale fee upon inquiry to make therapy services more accessible since I do not accept insurance.
What is the cost?
Please review the services page on my website to review the cost of therapy. I do believe in mental health care accessibility and may be able to provide a sliding scale upon inquiry.
Do you see teens?
I work with clients ages 16+.
What is your cancellation policy?
I ask for 24 hours notice for cancellations or the full fee will be charged. I set aside time for your session that is difficult to fill with less than 24 hours notice. If you are sick, we can always meet via telehealth instead of in person. in case of a true emergency, please let me know and we can discuss options.
